Safe Places runs extensive training for all of our employees.

Youth Worker Induction

All staff members complete 3 days Youth Worker Induction, including topics such as an overview of Safe Places, the Child Protection industry, supporting young people with complex needs from diverse backgrounds.

Case Manager Induction

Case Managers attend an additional 2 day induction, covering leadership, delegation, supervision, child protection system, household budgets and internally auditing processes.

Therapeutic Crisis Intervention

All staff attend and maintain up to date Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification. The program is run in-house by certified TCI instructors over 3 days.

The TCI system is designed to provide the skills, knowledge and confidence direct care workers need in order to deal with children and young people in crisis, and to be in control of the situation in order to bring about growth. It is a crisis prevention and intervention model.
